The Famous Tragedy of the Rich Jew of Malta, Written by Christopher Marlowe, newly imprinted with engravings by Eric Ravilious, Golden Hours Press, 1933, wood engraved plates by Eric Ravilious, top edge gilt, rough-trimmed, contemporary rust red half morocco gilt, a few minor marks, and spine very lightly faded, with card slipcase (some wear), 4to, limited edition 31/250 The short-lived Golden Hours Press was established in 1932 by Christopher Sandford and Francis Newbury, and produced only 3 volumes of an intended 9 volume set of the Works of Christopher Marlowe. The Press was closed in 1933 following the purchase of the Golden Cockerel Press. Remaining unsold copies of the 3 works were remainded and sold in cloth bindings. (1)
