A Louis XV style gilt-bronze mounted, tulipwood and amaranth bureau plat, by Sormani L'activité de Paul Sormani (1817-1877) fut reprise après son décès par son fils et sa veuve sous la raison sociale "Sormani veuve, Paul et fils", au 10 rue Charlot à Paris, jusqu'en 1886, date du décès de Madame Sormani. La maison déménagea donc au 134, boulevard Haussmann, en 1912, date à laquelle ils s'associèrent avec Thiébaux. CONDITION REPORT : Good overall condition despite the inevitable wears and marks in accordance with age and use. Some wears to the gilding of the moulded gallery surrounding the top of the bureau plat. One vertical shrinkage crack to the left handside of the bureau. Some very tiny shrinkage cracks and one tiny loss to the veneer to the right handside of the bureau. Fitted with one key. Very elegant model. Great proportions. Ready to be displayed.
