Beschreibung:

Description Bentley’s 1980s resurgence had hitherto relied exclusively on models whose basic architecture was shared with other Rolls-Royce products; but on display at Geneva in 1985 was Project 90, a mocked-up coupé intended to gauge public response to the idea of a high-performance car unique to Bentley. When the real thing – the Bentley Continental R – was unveiled six years later, the waiting crowd burst into spontaneous applause. Styled with the assistance of consultants International Automotive Design, the Continental R benefited from computer-aided design and wind tunnel testing in the creation of its sleekly streamlined shape. Finished in Georgian Silver metallic (special order paintwork) with a chrome radiator grill and veins originally supplied new through Jack Barclay Ltd., this wonderful Continental R is described to be in good overall condition. The sumptuous black hide interior complements the shale grey carpets and dark figured walnut to the waistrails beautifully. The centre console and dashboard and the shaded band to the front screen both complement the interior which is strikingly beautiful. The Bentley Continental R was the first to feature a body not shared with Rolls Royce since the SIII of 1965. It was the fastest, most luxurious and most powerful Bentley of its day. Perfect for the Côte d’Azur, this example is offered complete with a full history file, UK V5 registration and MoT until 2015.
