1993 BENTLEY CONTINENTAL R Châssis n° X52056 Sur la base de l'excellent moteur V8 en alliage léger conçu au début des années 1960, Rolls-Royce/Bentley a pu diversifier son offre à partir des années 1980 et rétablir peu à peu ses finances grâce à la relance de la marque Bentley dont les voitures étaient traditionnellement dotées d'un comportement plus sportif. C'est ainsi qu'en 1982 à Genève, le groupe a dévoilé la Bentley Mulsanne Turbo équipée d'une version à turbocompresseur du V8 de 6,7 litres donnant 330 ch (puissance estimée). Ce groupe a été équipé en 1989, sur les Turbo R et RL (longue) qui lui ont succédé, d'un échangeur air/air et d'une injection KE Motronic et le châssis pourvu d'une boîte automatique à quatre rapports et d'un correcteur d'assiette, améliorations reprises sur le luxueux coupé Continental R lancé à Genève en 1991, qui ressuscitait la prestigieuse appellation du célèbre et rarissime coupé Continental R proposé en 1952. Il s'agit là du modèle le plus performant de la gamme Rolls-Royce/Bentley, capable d'accélérer de 0 à 100 km/h en 6,6 secondes et d'atteindre près de 240 km/h, le tout dans un niveau de confort et de luxe qui n'appartient qu'à la marque. De couleur noire avec intérieur noir à passepoil bordeaux, cette Continental R a été vendue neuve en Allemagne en 1993. Immatriculée actuellement aux Pays-Bas depuis 2002, elle a parcouru 92 000 km. Elle sera délivrée avec sa pochette Bentley d'origine avec manuels et carnet d'entretien à jour. Une très belle opportunité pour le dernier coupé fabriqué entièrement à la main par Bentley.
