1993 Bentley Continental R Lot Number151 RegistrationL100 SEF Chassis NumberSCBZB03C7RCH52108 Engine Number80583L410M/TKR Odometer reading66,597 miles ResultSold - £36,960 Print details Send this to a friend Contact us 10 more images Only two owners from new Significant history folder Since 1921, the Bentley name has remained synonymous with prestige, performance and luxury. The ‘Continental’ designation recalls the Bentley Continental of the post-war period. The ‘R’ resonates to the R-Type Bentleys from the 1950’s as well as the Turbo R of the 1980’s. Bentley's 1980’s resurgence relied exclusively on models whose basic architecture was shared with other Rolls-Royce products however, the Bentley Continental R was unique to the Bentley marque. Despite the need to incorporate non-traditional features such as doors recessed into the roof, the result looked every bit a Bentley, albeit one restated for the 1990’s. Needless to say, the performance was outstanding, the combination of the Turbo R engine in the new wind-cheating shape cutting the 0-60mph time to under six seconds and boosting top speed to in excess of 150mph. Originally supplied by Reg Vardy in the north east to a prominent local businessman. He used this delightful Bentley for the first four years and travelled 46,000 miles in style. The second owner purchased the car in April 1998 and is the current registered keeper on the V5 registration document. He amassed 20,000 miles during his 24 year stewardship of this Continental R. This has clearly been a well-cared for example as is confirmed by the significant history folder. Recent work includes a full inspection by Prestige Services of Leeds with expenditure totalling more than £8,000. This includes new oil cooler and pipes, new brake pipes and calipers together with new handbrake shoes. A full service was carried out ensuring the car remains in excellent order both mechanically and cosmetically. Supplied with the original book pack, three sets of keys and a full toolkit in the boot. Aesthetically this is one of the best designs ever to be tabled at Crewe. The traditional colour combination of Racing Green with Parchment interior, piped in Spruce with Spruce carpets. To drive a Continental R is a memorable experience; this car represents an opportunity to acquire an extremely fine example of a superb motorcar.
