Ghia, qui possédait 50% de l'usine de production Osi, soit Officine Stampaggi Industriali, comprenant deux lignes de montage de voitures Cette voiture empruntait à Fiat le moteur 1500 cm3 et l'ensemble de la mécanique. Le châssis était réalisé par l'ingénieur Gilberto Colombo pour la société Gilco de Milan, celle là même qui fournissait Ferrari, et la carrosserie du coupé fut étudiée à la soufflerie de l'école polytechnique de Turin et dessinée par Sergio Sartorelli, directeur du style de Ghia, épaulé par Sapino. Elle s'inspire des modèles de l'époque, des asymétriques de Virgil Exner, au niveau de la calandre enveloppante faisant office de pare chocs comme sur la Chrysler St Régis dessinée aussi par Sartorelli. Un très élégant cabriolet appelé 450 SS Ghia est aussi au catalogue, mu par un moteur V8 Chrysler. Il fut redessiné par Giugiaro car Sartorelli avait quitté l'entreprise après la mort du patron Luigi Segre. La voiture présentée est un modèle unique avec une carrosserie de type " Barchetta " et appelée " Avenger " comme indiqué sur la carte grise. Elle totalise 70000 Km au compteur et se présente dans un état d'origine exceptionnel. Elle fut vendue par le représentant français de Ghia depuis les années cinquante, France Motors, 166 Avenue de Neuilly à Neuilly sur Seine, qui livra et exposa au salon de Paris la plupart des Ghia spéciales.
