1963 Chevrolet Corvette C2 Roadster Lot Number 216 Registration BOF68A Chassis Number 30867S112794 Odometer reading 977 miles Estimate £60,000 - £70,000 Result Sold - £56,000 Print details Send this to a friend 8 more images The Corvette Stingray had grown to be America's most popular sports car since its debut in 1953 but it was time for a change for the 1963-1967 models. Even the most superlative design grows whiskers after a decade and Chevrolet chief, Bill Mitchell and stylist, Larry Shinoda, faced a tough task; to improve a living legend. Not only did they succeed but their creation turned into a modern classic and they created the most collectible Corvette of them all sending sales soaring to record levels. Significant styling details included pivoting hidden headlights, doors cut into the roof and a swage line dip all wound up in the production Sting Ray. This striking example of the Corvette Stingray has been fully restored and custom upgraded in 2008 in the United States at a cost of over $156,000. All works have been fully documented with receipts on view within the history file. The engine is a 383ci. Chevy stroker small block (factory unit) kicking out 480hp & 465 ft/lbs of torque. Chrome air cleaners have also been added alongside polished valve covers, alternator, serpentine belt housings and oil pan. Polished intake manifolds, braided lines, stainless steel bolts combine to wow the senses when you lift the lid. The five-speed Keisler manual transmission uses power steering as well as ceramic silver headers, custom 3″ transitions from headers and 4″ chromed Grand Sport-style side-pipes. Finished in Ford electric green with white leather custom interior, C5 sport seats with custom mounts finished in ‘Vette Essentials style’ white leather. Are you ready for some adrenalin-filled, open top motoring
