In a letter written by Sidney Cockerell to Laurence Hodson in 1898 he explained that the trustees of the Kelmscott Press had arranged for the type to be sent to the Chiswick Press to be used only under control [see lot 256]. The last volume in the set is the first edition of this collection of papers.
