SWEDENBORG, EMANUEL (3). Opera philosophica et mineralia. I-III. Dresden und Leipzig (F. Hekel, excudebat A. Barthel) 1734. Folio (330x197 mm). (14), 1-160, 165-452 (recte 448); (12), 1-164, (1,1 blank), 165-386; (14), 1-534 pp. Lacking half-title (with head title Opera philosophica et mineralia) and last leaf "Dem Buchbinder". 122 engraved plates (lacking 1 plate [44 in vol III, p. 201 according to Hyde], partly browned or foxed, lesser in vol. III, otherwise some spotting), 2 folding engraved maps, 3 engraved vignettes. With engraved portrait of Swedenborg, 3 titles with engraved vingettes, engraved head-pieces (portrait with some browning to margins, plates partly browned or "faded", all plates with handwritten numbers on verso, larger folding map of Siberia with some repairs, some larger folding plates with some repaired tears). Contemporary full calf mirror bindings, partly rubbed and slightly worn, richly gilt spines in compartments and title labels, joints restored, upper spine damaged to vol. III which covers' are partly warped, speckled edges. Vol. I with owner's label on inside of upper cover. All titles with signature of W. Willemssen (?) and handwritten monogram C K B, first title with stain, some foxing and soiling. Some notes on endpapers, collation on paper taped to all first free endpapers, pages 301-303 in vol. III cut to outer margin. First collected edition. Hyde 228-230. DSB XIII, 179. Stroh & Ekelöf, Kronologisk förteckning öfver Emanuel Swedenborgs skrifter 95; Bibliotheca Walleriana 11018. Edited by Fredrik Hekelius. Rare complete. The work, and especially vol. I "Principia rerum naturalium", may be the most important Swedish work in natural philosophy. The three titles are: Principia rerum naturalium, Regnum subterraneum sive minerale de Ferro, Regnum subterraneum sive minerale de cupro et orichalco. Large map on thick paper on Siberian mines engraved by J. F. Leihzelt "Charta ofwer Siberiskae bruuks grufe dehlar, som och Toblska Werkaturska lagsaga..." (490x650 mm).
