Gravée plus tardivement sous la lèvre d’un nom de propriétaire probablement chrétien « Tuma Yusuf » (Thomas Youssef) Diam. : 19,5 cm État : traces d’oxydation à l’intérieur, perforations, restaurations. L’inscription est un poème en arabe que l’on retrouve souvent sur les métaux mamlouks du XVe siècle : « balaghta min al-‘ulya a’la al-maratib wa qaranaka al-tawfiq min kull janib wa la zalta marghuban ilayka wa basitan yaminayka fi’l-dunya bi-nayl al-maratib (…) » La traduction en anglais : « You have reached through greatness the highest of ranks, And success has accompanied you on all sides, You continue to be desired and to stretch / Out your hands into the world in the attainment of rank. » (cf.
