Middle case no. 6536. Serial no. 89326. This incredibly beautiful Rolex Submariner double-reference 6536/6538 is among one of the earliest and rarest of all Submariners. Produced during a limited period, this double-reference is a rare example of a transitional timepiece, as the case back displays the reference 6536 along with 6538 struck through by Rolex. This piece features an additional rarity for its ''Red Depth'' rating, as only few of the earliest models were manufactured with this colour marking. These extraordinary characteristics, combined with a small crown without crown guards and the wonderful black-lacquered ''Swiss'' dial featuring a grainy, ivory-toned patina makes this watch a very desirable timepiece that is rarely seen on the market.
