POTTER, BEATRIX. Tale of Peter Rabbit. [London: Strangeways, Printers] February 1902. Colored frontispiece and 41 other illustrations by the author. 16mo, original olive-green lettered boards with rounded back, plain white endpapers, fore-edges lightly foxed (as usual), otherwise a fine copy. SECOND PRIVATELY PRINTED EDITION, one of 200 copies. Quinby 1A; Linder, p. 420; V & A 1624-27. This is the second issue of Beatrix Potter's privately printed edition--the first having been published in December, 1901. There are two or three changes in the punctuation and a few changes to the text (pp. 51, 57, and 59). A wonderful association copy as it is inscribed by Nol Moore (who presumably collected it when he was a young man), for whom the story was originally written.
