London: for John Stockdale 1789. 4to, contemporary calf, marbled edges, rebacked, board edges rubbed, corners chipped, small holes to center folds of 3 folding charts (nos. 11, 35 and 38) with slight loss to the images of the two latter, caption to no. 11 shaved, short tear at mount of plate 33, small hole to fol. 2P2, affecting the signature and one word on the verso, fore-margins of plates 1 and 3 defective, a few other marginal paper defects, frontispiece and engraved title foxed, mostly marginal foxing to the plates . FIRST EDITION, engraved portrait frontispiece, engraved title with vignette, 53 engraved plates and charts, of which some double-page and some folding, the "Vulpine" plate in the later state, with the errata leaf, one leaf of publisher's advertisements at end.
