Motoring Prints, Tim Layzell limited edition prints, "1960 Goodwood TT" - Stirling Moss driving the Rob Walker entered Ferrari 250GT SWB to victory at Goodwood in the 1960 Tourist Trophy race. He is seen here blasting through the chicane in pursuit of Roy Salvadori's John Ogier entered Aston Martin DB4GT which took second place. This was the sixth of Stirling's seven victories in the famous TT 41/450. "Narrow Victory "- The premise of GT racing was that manufacturers could race cars based - however loosely - on cars which customers could drive on the road. The Ferrari GTO and the Aston Martin Project Cars were perhaps the ultimate expressions of this - based on the 250GT series and DB4GT respectively. For the TT at Goodwood in 1963, the Astons of Bruce McLaren and Innes Ireland were handicapped by having to run on narrow 5 ½ " wheel rims. Although Ireland put in a banzai qualifying lap to take pole, Graham Hill won the race from Mike Parkes' similar car while Ireland finished 7th after a number of lurid spins. Here, Hill leads Ireland and Parkes out of the chicane in the early stages of the race 41/450. together with Nicholas Watts - "Carrera Porsche - Porsche 550 Spyder 1954" Driving a Porsche 550 Spyder, Hans Herrmann brilliantly won the Small-Sports Class in the fifth and final Carrera Pan Americana in 1954. He achieved an incredible third place overall taking the massive power of the two five litre Ferrari's to beat him. The Porsche expedition to Mexico was masterminded by Huschke von Hanstein who was both Racing Director and Press Officer for Porsche 318/500 AF ( some water damage to mounts and prints) (3)
