Michael Collins - A Bible believed to have been his, also his sister-in-law's In Memoriam card.
Provenance: A niece of Collins; Gifted to Dr James A. Lynch, (1892-1966)\to the present owner. A note in Dr. Lynch's hand: "This book was in Michael Collins' pocket when he died. It was left here by his niece when postulating." With Dr. Lynch's In Memoriam Card also. The bible is a Scripture Gi... ift Union King James text stamped SUPPLIED FOR THE PUBLIC SERVICE. Collins would have received a copy as a post office worker in London. It is interesting that he hung on to this "Protestant" version of the Scriptures, in which he kept his sister-in-law's Memoriam card, until his death.
