The background of this work is possibly based on the Temple of Apollo at Delphi. Henry and Irina Moore visited Greece in 1951. According to the Henry Moore Foundation catalogue (no. HMF 2674), the signature and date were added later by Moore, and it was actually executed in 1951. Read more »
