One page, an oblong, 342 x 426mm. (13 1/2 x 16 3/4 in.), ON PARCHMENT, large papered seal of the Commonwealth at upper left-hand corner (in good condition), small tear at one fold intersection without loss. An attractive calligraphic document, countersigned at bottom by James Trimble, granting to Peter Benignus Audibert "a certain tract of land called 'La Bonne Genevieve'...on the North West Side of the River Allegheny." The frontier tract, comprising 298 acres, is located near present-day Pittsburg; its borders are described in detail by reference to various woodland trees and other landmarks.
