First word of volume 1 title is xylographic, both titles within historiated woodcut border (McKerrow & Ferguson 120), two folding woodcuts, numerous large woodcut text illustrations, woodcut initials (including a 19-line historiated initial of Elizabeth I), woodcut head- and tailpieces; the very large folding woodcut creased and separated at some folds, 2 woodcuts shaved, a few small rustholes, occasional marginal tears and chips very infrequently affecting shoulder-notes, some inner margins wormed, a few original flaws in the paper repaired. Seventeenth-century calf with Dysart arms in gilt on each cover, small ornaments on spine, early manuscript paper spine labels, red edges, titled on fore-edges; extremities quite rubbed, vol. 2 joints cracked but secure.
