Blue buckram for MCC, original green printed front wrapper bound in (wrapper lightly dust-soiled). PRESENTATION COPY inscribed 'to W.H. Taylor Esq., with the author's best wishes. 22 January, 1902' (2p. autograph letter of same date from the author to Taylor, stating that he is forwarding this copy, bound in after title). THE FIRST HISTORY OF SUSSEX C.C.C. NO. 30 OF 30 COPIES, signed by the author on limitation leaf. Reprinted from a series of eleven articles in Cricket , 29 November 1900-16 May 1901, this booklet follows a similar pattern to the Feats, Facts and Figures series but includes an introductory chapter and chronology. Ashley-Cooper's letter to William Henry Taylor praises his History of Kilburn Cricket (1886), and comments 'Would that ALL clubs would publish their history! but enthusiasts like yourself are, unfortunately, few and far between.'
