Lot of approx. 57 images, including sixth plate daguerreotype, 4 tintypes, and over 50 CDVs. Most of the individuals in these portraits - men, women, children - are unidentified. One image has lightly penciled on verso "Amilie Louise Rises(?) at the age of 4 years & 3 months." Nearly all of the studios are New York photographers: Johnston Brothers, Rae's Photographic Gallery, Remington, R.A. Lewis, Rockwood, Jaquith, W. Klauser, Chas. K Bill, H.S. Myer, Duchochois & Klauser, Rintoul & Rockwood, Hope (formerly Meade's), D. Appleton, Journey & Son, C.D. Fredricks & Co. and even Sarony, Bogardus and Brady Galleries. Other non-New York galleries include: E. Stuart and T.J. Trapp (both of Williamsport, PA), Vannerson & Jones and C.R. Rees & Bro. (Richmond, VA), Bendann Bros. (Baltimore), William H. Morgan (Philadelphia), Philp & Solomon (Washington, DC), D. Hinkle (Germantown), and J.A. Sheldon (New Orleans, LA). Condition: Many with clipped corners. For the most part in very good condition.
