Lot Description: Early Aviation Photographs An outstanding collection of forty-seven photographs, recording what is believed to be the first air race or aviation meeting on the continent of Africa, held at Heliopolis, Egypt between the 6th and 13th of February, 1910, images depict various aircraft, both on the ground and airborne, as well as scenes of spectators, each photograph approx 116mm x 170mm, each with blindstamp signature of O. Diradour, Cairo, one photograph of a group of men bears an ink royal cypher and possibly includes the Prince Ahmad Fuad (later King Fuad I) who headed the organising committee of the event.
