Charles Frodsham No. 1310 A Victorian ormolu-mounted rosewood month-going spring-driven Exhibition wall regulator. Circa 1870 The arched dial within a wavy-line engraved ormolu bezel, circular silvered Roman chapter ring with blued steel hands, the centre finely engraved with scrolling foliage on a hatched ground and with subsidiary seconds ring below XII, the similarly engraved gilt mask signed in the arch Chas. Frodsham, maker to the Queen, 84, Strand, London 1310 , the movement with robust rectangular plates with four double-screwed pillars, the massive chain fusee and barrel with Harrison's maintaining power, the wheel train with five crossings, jewelled pivots to the deadbeat 'scape wheel with unusual counter-balanced anchor and jewelled pallets, the steel-rod pendulum suspended from a brass backboard bracket, steel-cased pendulum bob with engraved calibration scale to the top and capstan pointer swinging against a silver calibrated beat scale engraved Charles Frodsham, 84 Strand, London. [RAD 45ins.] , the case with ormolu foliate mounts and finials to the arched top, glazed sides and trunk door with a heavy ormolu foliate entrelac-cast bezel, ormolu caryatids emblematic of the Sciences to the chamfered angles, similar mounts to the concave-moulded base 63 in. (150 cm.) high
