Gattsuk, 1880. 2° (354 x 264mm). 126 lithographed plates with letterpress captions. (Occasional light spotting, a few short marginal tears). Contemporary green morocco, sides with blind-tooled frames, upper side centred with the imperial eagle in gilt, white moiré-style endpapers (rebacked, edges repaired, endpaper chipped and soiled). Provenance : F. Biuler (gift inscription to:) -- Aleksei Borisovich Lobanov-Rostovskii (book ticket) -- Nicholas II (bookplate) -- Paul Fekula (sold, Christie's, 8 June 1994, lot 160). FIRST EDITION, THE LOBANOV-ROSTOVSKII--NICHOLAS II--PAUL FEKULA COPY, inscribed by the author to Count Lobanov-Rostovskii, the great collector and Russian ambassador to Great Britain. Nicholas II bought his entire library after his death. Biuler's work illustrates seals of the Tsars, government official, towns and regions of Russia.
