(Some mostly marginal spotting and soiling, imprint of some plates trimmed by the binder.) Full red morocco by Riviere and Son, spine gilt with repeated fox-mask tool, sides gilt with sporting tools, top edge gilt, original brown cloth covers bound in. FIRST EDITION of the life of this fearless and famously foolhardy sportsman who drank four to six bottles of port a day, and died of delirium tremens in the King's Bench prison, aged 38.
