A Tixi Cinnabar Lacquer Stembowl ming dynasty having deep rounded walls, supported on a tall spreading feet rising to a slightly flared mouth rim, densely carved to the exterior with overall ruyi head decoration above two bands of plantain leaves ending in scrolls, the interior and the base lacquered brown. Height 4 1/4 inches. Estimate $ 12,000-16,000 Property from a Prominent Midwest Collection Provenance: Acquired from H. H. Three minor chips to the lacquer around the mouth. Some cracks to lacquer in the interior of the bowl and the base consistent with age, a few small cracks to the carved decoration.
