A rare Japanese gimballed table clock 19th Century The movement with circular brass backplate secured to the dial plate by three turned brass pillars rivetted to the dial plate and pinned at the backplate, the going train with gut fusee and spring barrel, the wheel train with verge and contrate wheels planted on the outside of the backplate, the centre wheel running through the dial and carrying the single foliot with adjustable weights and dumbell banking arms, the brass chapter ring with 24 hour Japanese chapters with pierced brass hand fixed to a bronze disc, the movement gimballed within an unusual hexagonal pierced two-piece globe with mon stamp to the underside for Mitsumeyui , resting in a lacquered brass stand with sconce foot 8¾ in. (22 cm.) high
