Classic Car Auctions says: The BMW E39 Alpina 3.2 was introduced to the UK market in 1997 and remained in production until 2003. If you could call an Alpina a bargain then this was it, cheaper than a 540i V8, almost as fast, more fun to drive and definitely more exclusive. Based on BMWs 2.8 litre unit, Alpina increased displacement to 3.2, fitted lightweight Mahle pistons, modified the cylinder head and combustion chambers and reprogrammed the Siemens engine management system. The result was 260 bhp, Alpina claimed 0-100kmh of 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 260kmh.A beautiful Alpina B10 3.2
