Its place in automotive history is well established and still on-going today. Before the takeover by BMW however, there was a continuous process of development including many special limited-production editions. These included models that were created to commemorate racing victories or to celebrate an anniversary of the Mini marque. This is the Mayfair edition but one that has undergone a radical transformation. In approximately 2007, this standard Mayfair was restored and converted into the convertible you see today. It was repainted a classic Old English White and a number of other sympathetic modifications took place. The conversion itself has been done well with a hidden roll cage in the Targa section and full soft top hidden to the rear. A new exhaust, bearings, brakes and suspension have been either uprated or replaced in recent years and a walnut dashboard has been added with new seating, carpets and lightweight, drilled aluminium door handles and window winders. Fog lights to the front set it off well and the package is one of total summer fun.
