Beschreibung:

The Alfetta was launched in May 1972 in saloon form, and in 1974 a sleek and handsome fastback 2-door GT version was introduced. Styled by Giugiaro, this coupé was not just a beautiful shape but was also aerodynamically efficient with a drag coefficient of just 0.39. A front-mounted engine drives the rear wheels through a rear mounted transaxle with the gearbox integral with the differential giving a near 50-50 weight distribution over both axles providing excellent stability especially at speed and in windy conditions. Suspension is independent by torsion bars and wishbones at the front and by coil springs and a De Dion axle located by trailing arms and transverse Watts linkage at the rear. Braking is by discs front and rear, and steering by rack and pinion. By 1976, the Coupé was powered by a 1962cc version of what is now known as Alfa's classic Nord DOHC in-line four cylinder engine. Producing some 122bhp at 5,300rpm, this was sufficient to accelerate the Alfa to 60mph in 9.5 seconds and on to a top speed of around 120mph. This very original early Alfetta GTV has been garaged throughout its life and has only covered 38,000 miles from new. The vendor informs us that this Alfa Romeo is a delight to drive with a fine engine, smooth transaxle gearbox and enjoyable handling for those who like to actually drive their cars. Finished in red, the car is reported to be completely rust free, has never required any welding and is in excellent condition underneath, having been undersealed and waxoyled many years ago. The interior is completely original with grey velour seats in fine condition and also benefits from a period radio/cassette player. It is believed the rare set of Momo wheels have been on this Alfa Romeo from new and the car is also fitted with a full 'Ansa' exhaust system. The car is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in May 2014, the original handbook and a fair amount of history including old MoT test certificates and tax discs. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a low mileage Alfa which has been looked after its whole life by enthusiastic owners who have maintained it in top condition. Price guide £4,000 - £6,000.
