Still in existence today, Malaguti was founded in Bologna, Italy in 1932 by Antonio Malaguti. The firm built bicycles for the first five years, branching out into motorcycle manufacture in 1937 using engines supplied by Franco Morini thus beginning a lengthy association between the two firms. 50cc sports mopeds have been a Malaguti speciality for decades, commencing with the Cavalcone and Olympique models in the late 1960s. The term 'sports moped' may seem laughable today but Bike magazine recorded a top speed of 52.38mph while testing an Olympique back in 1974 and raved about the little Malaguti's excellent handling and decent brakes. Offered in need of restoration, this Olympique is said to be complete apart from the toolbox lid, centre stand and rear brake pedal. The machine comes with an original owner's manual and Swansea V5 document. No reserve
