Autokraft is without question the most accurate replica of the marque. Dimensions are exact and allow genuine Ferrari parts to be used if required but most used Jaguar V12 engines and running gear. Built by E.G. Autokraft, PKA and Arrow, these cars were the work of Emilio Garcia and Peter Jacobs Emilio had been turning Ferrari 365 Berlinetta Daytona’s into spiders for years so it was a logical step for him to engineer a replica. He turned to Peter Jacobs to make the bodies; Peter was the man who built the bodies for the RS200 Ford rally car and the GTD, a very well made Ford GT 40 replica. The E.G bodies were Kevlar reinforced composite. Uniquely, they also built a copy of the Daytona Berlinetta, it is thought they sold seven examples. There is a thriving owners club with members around Europe and in the USA, which has helped many of them to complete and improve their cars. This particular example retains the identity of its Jaguar XJ12 donor car along with the 5.3 litre, V12 engine. She was re-commissioned in 2013 with special attention paid to her indicators, pop up headlamps, instruments and door rubbers. The extensive work included a reconditioned power steering rack, engine and gearbox oil change, a new battery, radiator and double lined mohair hood. She presents extremely well in classic Ferrari Red, a Nardi steering wheel and an interior trimmed with Connolly leather seats and Wilton carpets. It is easy to see why the vendor describes this Spyder as tremendous fun to drive. Presented to auction with a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until 30th January 2020, this usable evocation is guaranteed to turn heads.
