Beschreibung:

Harley-Davidson was beginning to realize the impact of lightweight motorcycles arriving on our shores from Japan, and decided to purchase 50% of the Aermacchi company in 1960. Aermacchi would develop and rebadge lightweight motorcycles, made in their Varese factory in Italy, as Harley-Davidsons. Harley-Davidson was hoping to attract buyers to their smaller motorcycles so that customer base would eventually purchase a Big Twin. This 1967 Harley-Davidson SS250 Sprint has the characteristic flat single cylinder engine of 246cc displacement that produces 18 horsepower and allows the motorcycle to attain a top speed of 80mph. The low center of gravity of the engine made the motorcycle surprisingly nimble and a favorite choice on dirt tracks during the 1960’s and 70’s. The toe shifter is located on the right side of the motorcycle while braking is performed on the left, as was common during that period on European and British motorcycles. 32 miles fresh from restoration, the bike shows only 8,372 miles on the odometer and sports a Bates custom muffler. Offered on a Certificate of Title. Without reserve
