Sporting elegant coachwork designed and built by Pininfarina, the 1.3-litre Giulietta Spider was a huge success and continued virtually unchanged in 1.6-litre Giulia guise when the latter joined the Alfa line-up in 1962. A bonnet air scoop, necessary to clear the larger engine's taller block, readily identified the new model. The capacity increase boosted maximum power of Alfa's classic twin-cam four from 80 to 92bhp and the car's top speed to 109mph. Reliability was likewise enhanced and the larger engine was noticeably smoother and less fussy. A five-speed gearbox was standard on the Giulia Spider, which remained in production until 1966. Towards the end of production the up-rated Spider Veloce was introduced, which came with the Sprint Speciale's 129bhp engine installed, making it the fastest of the mainstream production Giulias. The Giulia Spider is certainly one of the most attractive Alfa Romeos of its day and remains highly regarded now, especially in its ultimate Veloce specification. This restored Giulia Spider Veloce was imported from California in 1995 and benefits from a new hood and recently reupholstered seats. Finished in red with black interior, the car is offered with (copy) California title, sundry restoration invoices, German registration papers and Classic Data report stating that it is 'Condition 2+' (very good throughout). Une boîte de vitesse à cinq rapports devint standard sur la Giulia Spider qui resta en production jusqu'en 1966. Vers la fin de la production, la Spider Veloce plus performante fut introduite avec le moteur de 129 cv de la Sprint Speciale qui en fit le modèle le plus rapide de la famille Giulia. La Giulia Spider, certainement une des plus séduisantes Alfa Romeo en son temps, est toujours très appréciée, notamment dans sa version Veloce la plus poussée. Cette Giulia Spider Veloce importée de Californie en 1995 bénéficie d'une capote neuve et de garnitures de sièges récemment refaites. Peinte en rouge avec intérieur noir, cette voiture est proposée avec son titre californien (en copie), un copieux dossier de factures de restauration, ses documents d'immatriculation allemands et une attestation de classification en catégorie "Classic Condition 2" (état général très bon).
