Beschreibung:

Produced between 1961 and 1967, the Triumph TR4 combined a new, modern and aggressive body design by famed Italian stylist, Giovanni Michelotti, with the basic chassis of the previous TR3A. The TR4 also improved passenger comfort with wind-up windows, face-level ventilation and an optional hardtop. The 2138cc engine of the late-production TR3A continued while the 1991cc engine was also made available to buyers who wanted to participate in two-litre racing. When equipped with the optional overdrive, the TR4 was good for a top speed of almost 110mph. A natural choice for those who liked to skip around on the very edge of adhesion. The TR4 was used to great effect in many forms of motorsport from Le Mans to Rallycross and it is a rally version offered here today. Well known amongst those that take this sport seriously, 885UXT started out, obviously, as a road car but in 1994, it was rebuilt by Robert Leech and from that point evolved into a rally car. Used frequently and to great effect it was then restored again in 2007/2008 by Alan Pettit for international events. This level of development took it to new heights and the investment paid off. Winner 1996 Scottish Historic Stage Championship Winner 1997 Scottish Historic Stage Championship Winner 1998 Scottish Historic Stage Championship Winner 1998 Scottish Historic Road Rally Championship Winner 1996 Teviotdale Road Rally Winner 1996 Jim Clark Forest Stage Rally Winner 1996 Rally Alno Forest Stages Winner 1997 and 2000 Jim Clark Memorial Trophy Rally Winner 2003 Berwick Classic 2008 Tulip Rally Belgium As well as class wins in the Berwick Classic, Cumbria Classic, Durham Dales and Johnston Trophy Rally. It is now a complete with FIVA passport as well as an old Rally stage logbook and RAC historic papers. The well known and proven racer benefits from full FIA approved roll cage, properly welded plates in floors and arches, bucket seats, fire extinguisher and built in stop watches. The balanced Stage 3 engine was rebuilt 6,000 miles ago and has a Piper BP270 camshaft with new Lucas Dizzy mapped for cam. At the other end is a four branch manifold with skidded exhaust. Power comes through an overdrive gearbox last rebuilt in 2007. Competition front spring spats were also fitted with adjustable polyurethane bushes at the same time. This competitive car has one more trick up its sleeve. It is also an extremely useable everyday car and has been designed in such a way as to provide fast road performance to those that want it. Described as in very good condition throughout by the vendors, 885UXT really does offer something for everyone.
