1962 Triumph TR3B Roadster Lot Number 164 Chassis Number TCF2037L Engine Number TCF 2059E Odometer reading 5,200 km Estimate £20,000 - £25,000 Print details Send this to a friend The Triumph TR3 was built between 1955 and 1957 during which time only 1,286 cars were produced for the home market. According to the TR Register, as of 2002, there remains only 893 registered TR3/3A's on UK roads. The TR3B is an unofficial name given nowadays to the final version of the TR3 which was produced in 1962. It was offered concurrent with the TR4 which started production in 1961 and was a special short-production run in response to dealer concerns that the buying public might not welcome the TR4. It had the body of the later TR3A and two series were produced, one with a commission number preceded by 'TSF' of which 530 were produced and one with commission numbers preceded by TCF of which 2804 were produced. The TSF series were identical to the last run of TR3As and the TCF series had the 2.2 litre, TR4 engine. It also had different headlight rims, a wider grille and door handles. This beautiful example is finished in Spa White with a contrasting light blue interior that is showing a lovely patina and is supplied with a history file that contains a certificate of appraisal dated from 21st April, 1999. The certificate states that the physical condition as 'very good to excellent' and the mechanical condition to be 'excellent'. In 1999, the car was in the possession of Raymond Pavlovick of Sowanee, Georgia, USA. In 2004 the car passed to Eugene Thompson in Virginia and subsequently passed to its current owner in 2015 and exported to the UK in 2016 with all taxes paid. A UK V5 document is in the process of being applied for along with a Heritage trust Certificate. The car is supplied with a history file and has had extensive work carried out over the years and is a particularly good, not to mention rare, example of one of the more collectable British sports cars.
