Introduced in the spring of 1932, the Austin 10hp would prove an outstanding sales success, out-selling every other Austin - including the Seven - from 1933 to 1939. Powered by a 21bhp sidevalve four, the ten delivered 50mph-plus performance while bettering 30 miles per gallon. The four-speed gearbox was equipped with synchromesh for 1934 and 12-volt electrics standardised at the same time. The model was up-dated for 1935 much in the manner of other Austins, gaining a cowled radiator and projecting boot. This example was acquired by the Trust in 1985 as a restoration project. Part restored by BMIHT and then by Manchester College of Arts & Technology, it requires further body, interior and mechanical work to complete. Offered with Swansea V5.
