Beschreibung:

Y A red tortoiseshell and brass inlaid 'Boulle' mantel clock, Rollin, Paris, second half 19th century, with eight-day bell striking movement with outside countwheel, the backplate stamped for the maker and numbered 302, the dial with blue Roman numeral cartouches behind a convex glazed bezel, the case of waisted form with seated putto finial, 41cm high Provenance: Property from the collection of the late Mr. & Mrs. John Da Silva Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use, Old splits and cracks, some lifting and losses to veneers and inlays, The finial is loose to the top of the case, The metal areas with dirt and discolouration, The cartouche numerals with chips and cracks, the 'VII' with the most severe losses overall. The pendulum is numbered 302 and is almost certainly original, the movement has a bell, there is no key present. Dreweatts have not tested the movement and give no guarantees or comments as to whether it is working order or not. We would recommend getting it appraised by a professional clock restorer. The timber near the rear door catch is missing some timber and the catch does not therefore catch and keep the door closed. Condition Report Disclaimer
