A WWI First and WWII Second World War interest medal group belonging to one Captain Frank J. Harris of the Somerset Light Infantry. The medal group comprising; his Order of the British Empire (OBE), War Medal (impressed Capt F. J. Harris , Victory Medal with oak leaf for a mention in dispatches (impressed ditto), his Territorial War Medal (impressed Capt F. J. Harris Som. L. I.) and another of overseas origin. All mounted on bar, each with original ribbon. Also includes the official set of miniatures, with an additional Delhi Durbar Medal, Territorial Decoration miniature. Along with the original OBE medal box, and the original letter of recommendation 'The King, on recommendation of the Secretary Of State For Foreign Affairs, has been pleased to direct that you should be appointed an Officer of the Order Of The British Empire' and is dated 1942. Little is known of the history of Captain Harris, only that at the outbreak of the First World War he was a bank manager at the Ottoman Bank, based in Baghdad, Iraq. Consigned from the family (Harris was the vendor's Grandmother's brother. It is believed the 'J' stands for James.) An interesting medal group.
