Extensive group to World War II Naval Aviator Chester Tennant consisting of: Leather flight jacket, stenciled "USN" under the collar, Talon zipper partially detached from the lower body, knitted cuffs and lining show moderate service wear. Patch and name tag removed from the chest; Green Naval Aviator jacket with bullion wings, named in the pocket "Tennant"; Black officer's jacket with bullion wings, named in the pocket "CL Tennant 12-7-43"; US Navy officer's green visor cap with maker marked leather sweatband and basket weave body; Green wool garrison cap with US Navy insignia pinned to one side and Lieutenants bar on the other side; Navy V-5 program greenback patch; Pair Sterling Amico Naval Aviator's wings; Pair Aviation Cadet shoulder boards; Blue US Navy "Mae West" life vest complete with both lights and tubes; Includes an extensive grouping of ephemera consisting of: Air Navigation Workbook and Plotting Workbook; The American Air Almanac: Preflight-Primary book full of notes and charts; Air Navigation Notebook full of Naval Aviator school notes; "Germany Surrenders; War in Europe Over!" May 7, 1945 Napa, CA newspaper; "Unconditional Surrender Ends Great War in Europe" Jacksonville, FL newspaper; Naval Air Station, Norman OK and Naval Training Center Corpus Christie TX souvenir booklets; White canvas case on which is inked a large Naval Aviator wing and named "Chet Tennant U.S.N.R. Batt 6 Platoon 5"; two portrait photos of Tennant in uniform; Metal bound composition case named on one side and with "US Naval Aviation" decals on the top. Tennant served from June 9th, 1943 to November 28th, 1945 as an active duty aviator and then served in the Naval reserve. CONDITION: Unless noted, all very good to excellent.
