The flag with the Union Jack at upper left canton, light blue ground with the RAF roundel in red, white and blue, with a short halyard, the hoist stenciled "RAF 39". Some discoloration and wear. 830 x 1860 mm. (32.5 x 73 inches.) Provenance: This flag is said to have flown at the entrance to RAF Debden, and was acquired by a local farmer around 1942, when the base was transferred to American ownership; sold to a British World War II collector in Saffron Walden in the 1970s.
