They explored the Chogo Lungma glacier from Arandu with topographer Östreich and Zurbrigen; thence in 1903 they continued their exploration with Joseph Pettigas and reached the Nushik La from the side of Hoh Lumba glacier" (Yakushi). Being one of the earliest professional mountaineers, Fanny Bullock Workman set several altitude records for woman at that time. The Workmans returned eight times over a period of 14 years to the then almost unexplored Western Himalaya and the Karakoram. - Minor marginal browning, slight spotting or foxing here and there; few pages bumbed and with small tears to bottom edge; 1 plate loosened. Pictorial green original cloth, gilt lettering to front cover and spine, top edge gilt; slight rubbing and bumping, spine sunned and with small tears to head and tail; joints cracked in places but firm; front hinge cracked.
