28 gauge with 2 3/4" chamber, 25.5" matted barrel length, S/N 231. Left side of the barrel marked "Winchester Golden Quail" next to gauge and chamber markings. Top of the barrel marked in script "Golden Quail". Right side of the barrel marked "Made in Japan". Beautifully engraved game scene on left side of the frame with Setter flushing a quail. The right side of the frame with 2 flushing quails bordered by scrolls. Bottom of the frame with scroll engraving with gilt quail. Above the quail is marked "One of 500" and below the quail marked "Golden Quail". Scroll engraving on the trigger guard and barrels at the breech. Fancy checkered straight wrist stock and forearm. Blue finish on the barrels, stainless frame with gold plated trigger. Front white bead sight and red Winchester marked recoil pad. Comes in original Winchester canvas case marked on the inside "Golden Quail" over "by Winchester" over "Limited Edition 1 of 500". LOP measures 14.25" and drop at heel 2.25". Chokes are MOD and CYL. Condition: Good condition overall retaining some of the blue finish on the barrels. There is some wear to the finish near the breech and muzzle with some light scratches throughout the length of the barrel as well as light surface oxidation. The frame is very good and retains most of the gold on the trigger. The stock with scratches and nicks that are consistent with normal field use. Hairline crack on the stock and forearm. Bores are very good and mechanically functional.
