Engraved portrait, 2 engraved titles, map and 117 engraved plates after W. H. Bartlett. (Some leaves loosening and hinges weak, text and plates bound upside-down in volume 6, occasional mainly light spotting and browning). Original printed morocco-backed boards. (Rubbed and scuffed, upper joint on concluding part splitting). Provenance : Joseph Ferguson Morton (signatures on front endpapers). Abbey Travel 651; Sabin 3784: "First issued in thirty parts. Some proof copies of the plates were printed in folio without letter-press. This work has been frequently reprinted, without date". With 2 volumes of Paris Pittoresque (Paris, 1842). (9)
