WILLIAMSON. A FINE AND RARE GOLD AND ENAMEL VERGE POCKETWATCH Signed Williamson, second half 18th Century The frosted gilt fusee movement with unuusal glazed bridgecock and ruby endstone, monometallic three-armed balance with fine blued steel hairspring of two tones adjusted in length by a blued steel regulator disc, similar regulator disc to adjust the mainspring set up, both mounted on the backplate with chased, pierced and engraved silver decoration, specially shaped pillars to hold three glazed panels behind a finely turned and numbered dust ring, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals and Arabic five minute divisions, decorative stone set hands, the gold case enamelled on both sides, the outer with painted scene of three children at music practice with decorative painted surround, the bezel similarly decorated, the inside of the case with pastoral scene on white background, movement signed and numbered 48 mm. diam.
