FootnotesProvenance Noah Goldowsky Gallery, New York Acquired by the present owner circa 1985 A pioneering Canadian artist primarily associated with color field painting, William Perehudoff's atmospheric canvases reflect the great expanses of the Saskatchewan prairies where he was born. Perehudoff's lifelong association with the Emma Lake Artist's Workshop led to friendships with many artists including Kenneth Noland and Jules Olitski The influence of both artists can be seen in La Loche No 7, dating to 1973.
