Provenance : George W[illiam] King (1822-1881, inside front wrapper with signature dated 'Oct. 21 1867' and his list of contents, further signature, address and date on front blank to second work: 'G.W. King 26 Montpelier Road May 8, 1845'). A record for the 1843-1846 seasons, published in the years 1844-47, Denison's Companion was the historical successor to the score books of Britcher and Bentley, and with Lillywhite's Guide set the precedent for Wisden's Almanack .
