William BLACK (20th Century British) 'Figures and Lanscape' Gouache Signed, inscribed and dated '66 13 x 19.5cm Somewhat overlooked and relatively unknown, self-taught artist, William Black, spent the early 1950's working as an architect. Inspired by the abstract avant-garde movement rapidly developing in West Cornwall, Black decided to move to St Ives to pursue his passion for art and to initiate his career as a sculptor and painter.
