Manuscripts mentioning the Stillman improved harpoon, the length of time taken to capture a whale using different methods, packing lists for whaling capture, and a drawing of an original whaling lance. Condition: some folds with short splits, marginal tears. A whaling lance, when inserted into the body of a whale, makes the whale an accessory in his own capture by his efforts to escape.
