WEBLEY & SCOTT, BIRMINGHAM A RARE BOXED AND FACTORY CASED .22 BARREL-COCKING AIR-PISTOL, MODEL 'SENIOR', batch no. 407, accompanied with a factory enquiry letter dated May 1946 stating this product will not be available until August/September of the same year, the pistol with sighted rifled 6 1/2in. barrel, blued stepped air-chamber marked 'WEBLEY PATENTS', model designation and the Birmingham '4' address, three pin trigger-group, chequered brown bakelite grips, the whole appearing little used with slight storage marks only and complete with its rare post-war black leatherette or 'Rexine' case, the interior compartmented and lined in green baize, the inside of lid with a printed black and gold trade-label stating 'WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD, ESTABLISHED 1790, PREMIER WORKS, BIRMINGHAM, GRAND PRIX DU CASINO A MONTE CARLO-FIVE YEARS', the case containing a good orange label Webley oil tin with horizontally stored spout (full), an orange 'WEAMAN STREET' rectangular pellet-tin for 'WEBLEY SPECIAL PELLETS' (empty), another of usual style (full) and a sheet of cocking instructions (oil soaked), the outer with double non-locking clasps (some tarnish to brightwork, wear to handle and a small old repair to rear top edge of lid) and also with its manufacturers brown card carton with applied blue label (excellent throughout) and containing a period tube of 'BSA' grease, a wire-handled cleaning brush, the original pistol swing ticket, leather breech washer and sample packet of pellets (empty) as well as the earlier mentioned correspondence and a period factory brochure
