The War in South Africa prepared in the historical section of the great General Staff Berlin, 3 volumes, London: John Murray 1904-1906, folding colour maps, monochrome plates after photographs, extensively annotated in ink to margins, including copies of letters addressed to Lord Methuen concerning the Boer War, and including an original autographed letter signed to Lord Methuen from Gleichen, dated 28 April 1904 to the first volume, the first two volumes signed by Lord Methuen to front pastedown, original dark green cloth gilt, rubbed and fraying to joints and extremities, 8vo, together with The Fifes in South Africa being a history of the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry in the South African War, 1900-1901, by 9176 I. Y., Cupar-Fife: A.
